No — they're a sign of authenticity. Because genuine leather is a natural hide, every piece is unique, and you may see subtle grain variation, natural markings and slight tonal differences. These are entirely normal characteristics of real leather — a mark of the genuine article rather than a fault — and they're part of what gives a leather sofa its individual character. A leather-look material has a uniform, printed surface; genuine leather has natural variation.

What recliner options are there?

Three comfort options. A traditional sofa is a classic fixed design with no moving parts. A manual recliner leans back and raises a footrest, worked by hand with a lever or push-back, with no power needed. An electric recliner does the same at the touch of a button, powered by a motor, so it needs a nearby socket. The product page tells you which option a particular sofa is.

How do the electric and manual recliners work?

Both lean the seat back and raise a footrest, then return upright — the difference is control. A manual recliner is worked by hand, with a lever or a push-back and no socket needed. An electric recliner is powered by a quiet motor and controlled from a button or handset, stopping wherever you let go, and needs a nearby mains socket. Both are comfort features.

Is black genuine leather practical?

Yes — as a dark shade, black hides minor marks far better than a paler colour, and genuine leather is naturally easy to care for, with a quick wipe lifting most everyday spills and dust. It's endlessly versatile to style, too. What do combinations like 3+2+1 mean?

Each number is a piece by its number of seats: 3 is a 3-seater, 2 is a 2-seater and 1 is an armchair. So 2+1 is a 2-seater plus an armchair, 3+2 is a 3-seater plus a 2-seater, 3+2+1 is a full suite of a 3-seater, a 2-seater and an armchair, 3+3 is two 3-seaters, and 2+1+1 or 3+1+1 is a sofa with two armchairs.

What is your returns policy?

We offer a 14-day change of mind returns window from the day your order is delivered, on items returned in their original condition. To arrange a return, contact our team within those 14 days and we'll talk you through the next steps. This is in addition to your statutory rights, which cover goods that are faulty or not as described.

What happens if my sofa arrives damaged?

If any piece arrives with damage, contact our team as soon as possible — ideally within 48 hours — with a few photographs, and we'll arrange a repair, replacement or collection. It helps to check each piece over on delivery before the team leaves where you can, including testing the recline on any reclining models. Remember that natural grain variation and markings aren't damage — they're characteristic of real leather.

Do I need to assemble the sofa myself?

There's very little to do. Our two-person team brings each piece into your room and fits any feet on-site, so it's ready to use. For an electric recliner it's simply a case of plugging into a nearby socket, and if a larger piece arrives in sections, they simply link together, with no tools needed from you.
