Question 1

How long does a Chesterfield leather sofa last?

Accepted Answer

There is no single guaranteed figure. Lifespan depends on the frame construction, the leather quality and finish, how heavily the sofa is used and how well it is cared for — details that are not all confirmed in the current product data. A well-made leather Chesterfield that is kept out of direct heat and sunlight and wiped clean promptly tends to age gracefully. Check each product page for the specification once published, and follow the care guidance below to get the most from your sofa.

Question 2

What is a Chesterfield sofa?

Accepted Answer

A Chesterfield is a classic sofa style defined by its deep buttoned upholstery, high rolled arms that sit level with the back, and a low, even backline, usually finished in leather with stud detailing along the arms and base. It is one of the most recognisable traditional designs. Every sofa and set in this collection follows that Chesterfield styling in an antique leather finish, across single sofas and matching multi-piece sets.

Question 3

What does “antique leather” mean here?

Accepted Answer

“Antique” describes the finish rather than the age: a rich, slightly distressed, lived-in look that suits the traditional Chesterfield shape. It is the term used in the product titles across this collection. The exact leather grade and construction are not fully confirmed in the current data, so we describe these as antique leather in line with the product titles and recommend checking the individual product page for the confirmed material detail before ordering.

Question 4

Is this genuine leather?

Accepted Answer

The product titles describe these as antique leather, while this collection is grouped as bonded leather. We describe them in line with the titles — as an antique-finish leather — and we do not assert either genuine leather or a specific bonded composition beyond what the product data confirms. If the exact make-up matters to you, check the individual product page for the confirmed material detail, or call our team on 02476 705 600, and we will clarify before you order.

Question 5

What is bonded leather?

Accepted Answer

Bonded leather is a manufactured upholstery material made from leather fibres and offcuts bonded to a backing and finished with a surface layer, giving a leather look at a lower price than a full hide. It is the classification under which this collection is grouped. Because the product titles here describe the pieces as antique leather rather than stating bonded, we describe them by their titles and treat the composition as something to confirm on the individual product page. If the exact material is important to you, call our team on 02476 705 600 before ordering.

Question 6

What size room do I need for a Chesterfield sofa or set?

Accepted Answer

This depends on the configuration and the exact dimensions, which are not fully confirmed in the current data. A single 2 seater needs far less space than a 3+3 or a three-piece 3+2+1 set. As a guide, plan the footprint of every piece together, and remember Chesterfield arms are generous, which adds to the overall width. Always measure your room and check the exact product dimensions before ordering rather than judging from the seat count alone.

Question 7

How do I measure for a Chesterfield sofa or set?

Accepted Answer

Measure the length, depth and height of each piece, then mark them on your floor with tape so you can see the full arrangement and the walking space left around it. Chesterfields have wide rolled arms, so measure the true overall width, not just the seating area. Because exact dimensions are not fully confirmed in the current data, treat the published product-page measurements as authoritative before you order, especially for multi-piece sets.

Question 8

What do the numbers like 3+2 and 2+1+1 mean?

Accepted Answer

The numbers describe how many seats are in each piece of a set. A 3+2 is a three-seater plus a two-seater; a 3+2+1 adds a one-seater armchair; a 2+1+1 is a two-seater with two armchairs; and a 3+3 gives two three-seaters. This collection also includes individual 2 and 3 seater sofas on their own. Choose the combination that matches how many people you seat regularly and how the pieces will fit your room.

Question 9

Which configuration should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Match it to your room and household. A single 2 or 3 seater suits smaller rooms or a second seat; a 3+2 or 3+3 works for families; and a three-piece set such as 3+2+1 or 2+1+1 spreads seating around a larger room. Sketch the pieces onto a plan of your room before deciding, since Chesterfield arms are wide and a big set can fill a space quickly. Check exact dimensions on the product page.

Question 10

Are single sofas and matching sets both available?

Accepted Answer

Yes. This collection includes individual Chesterfield sofas in 2 and 3 seater sizes, as well as matching multi-piece sets from 2+1 up to 3+3 and three-piece combinations such as 3+2+1 and 2+1+1. That lets you buy a single sofa now and add matching pieces later, or order a complete suite in one go. Availability varies by piece, so check the product page for the specific size and colour you want.

Question 11

How do I clean and care for antique leather?

Accepted Answer

Wipe the surface with a clean, slightly soft dry or barely damp cloth to lift dust, and deal with spills promptly by blotting rather than rubbing. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, solvents and abrasive pads, and keep the sofa out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from direct heat such as radiators, which can dry any leather over time. Product-specific care codes are not confirmed in the current data, so always follow the care label on the individual product.

Question 12

Can the leather be conditioned?

Accepted Answer

Many leather finishes benefit from occasional conditioning with a suitable leather care product, but whether a specific conditioner is recommended for these antique finishes is not confirmed in the current data. Using the wrong product can mark or darken leather, so do not apply anything before checking. Follow the care label on the individual product, or contact our team on 02476 705 600, before conditioning a particular sofa or set.

Question 13

What colours are available?

Accepted Answer

This collection is offered in four colours: red, brown, grey and black, all in the antique leather finish. Brown and black are the most traditional Chesterfield choices; grey suits contemporary schemes; and red makes a bolder statement piece. Not every colour is available in every configuration, so check the product page for the specific size and colour combination you want before ordering.

Question 14

Which colour should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Choose the colour that suits your room and how bold you want the sofa to be. Brown and black are timeless and hide marks well; grey feels more modern and neutral; and red becomes a focal point in a room. Think about your existing walls, flooring and other furniture, and bear in mind a Chesterfield is a statement shape in any colour. Our team can help you choose on 02476 705 600.

Question 15

Can I return a Chesterfield leather sofa, and what is the return window?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer a 14-day returns window, sometimes described as 14-day change of mind, so you have time to be sure the sofa or set is right for your room. Because sets have several pieces, please keep the packaging until you are certain and check the exact returns conditions. If you need to arrange a return, contact our team on 02476 705 600 and they will guide you through it.

Question 16

What should I do if the sofa arrives damaged?

Accepted Answer

Inspect every piece on delivery and, if you notice any damage or a fault, report it to us as soon as possible on 02476 705 600 with photographs of the issue. Keeping the packaging and noting any concern at the point of delivery helps us resolve things quickly. The sooner a problem is reported, the sooner we can arrange a repair, replacement or other suitable resolution for you.

Question 17

Does the sofa require assembly?

Accepted Answer

Assembly requirements are not confirmed in the current product data for this collection. Many sofas arrive ready to use or simply need feet attaching, but this varies by model, and sets involve several pieces. Please do not assume a particular setup. Check the individual product page for assembly detail, or call 02476 705 600 before ordering if access or assembly is a concern, and we will confirm what is involved for a specific sofa or set.

Question 18

What warranty applies?

Accepted Answer

We are not stating a specific warranty term for this collection because the exact cover is not confirmed in the current product data, and we would rather leave it pending than quote a figure we cannot verify. Please check the individual product page for any warranty detail, or contact our team on 02476 705 600, and they will confirm what applies to the specific sofa or set you are considering before you order.

Question 19

Which products are currently in stock?

Accepted Answer

Most of the collection is in stock at the time of writing, across the four colours and the range of configurations, though a few sets and armchairs show as out of stock. Stock changes constantly, so treat the live product pages as authoritative. If a specific size or colour shows as unavailable, use the back-in-stock option on its product page, or contact us on 02476 705 600 for the nearest available alternative.

Question 20

How quickly is delivery?

Accepted Answer

The in-stock sofas and sets currently show a delivery timeframe on their individual product pages. Please note there is an internal wording point being resolved between the product-level delivery message and our standard delivery policy, so we treat the timeframe shown on each product page as the authoritative one at the point of ordering. Delivery is free to England and Wales and carried out by our two-person team. Confirm the current timeframe on the product page before ordering.

Question 21

Are finance options available?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can spread the cost with PayPal Pay in 3, Klarna Pay in 3 or Pay in 30, and Clearpay in 4 interest-free fortnightly payments, or choose DivideBuy for a longer-term plan. These options are interest-free where stated and subject to credit check. The exact plans available are shown at checkout. If you would like help choosing a finance option before you order, call our team on 02476 705 600.

Question 22

Do these sofas have the traditional deep buttoning and rolled arms?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every sofa and set in this collection follows the classic Chesterfield styling: deep buttoned upholstery, high rolled arms level with the back, a low even backline and stud detailing, in an antique leather finish. It is the traditional look the Chesterfield is known for. Exact detailing such as button spacing and stud placement can vary slightly by piece, so check the product images for the specific sofa you are considering.

Question 23

Is a Chesterfield comfortable for everyday use?

Accepted Answer

A Chesterfield is a firmer, more upright style than a soft modern sofa, which many people find supportive and well suited to everyday sitting, while others prefer a softer seat. Comfort is personal, and exact seat depth and cushion firmness are not confirmed in the current data. If you can, it is worth trying the style in our Coventry showroom before ordering, or call 02476 705 600 to talk through what to expect.

Question 24

Can I visit a showroom to see the leather in person?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You are welcome to visit our Coventry showroom to see the Chesterfield styling and the antique leather colours in person before you order, which many customers find helpful for a statement piece like this. Call us on 02476 705 600 to check current opening times and to ask any questions about a specific sofa or set before you make the trip.
