What are leather armchairs?

Are they genuine leather or Leather Aire?

Both, kept clearly distinct. Some armchairs are genuine leather — a natural hide that's breathable, hard-wearing and ages to a patina — while others are Leather Aire, a leather-look material with a wipe-clean surface. Leather Aire is not genuine leather, and we never describe it as faux. The exact material of each leather chair is stated on its product page.

What is the difference between genuine leather, Leather Aire and faux leather?

Genuine leather is a natural hide — breathable, long-lasting and full of character, at a higher price. Leather Aire is a leather-look material that isn't genuine hide, giving the look with easy care at a mid price. Faux leather is a man-made, uniform material that costs least. Our leather armchairs are genuine leather or Leather Aire, and we never call Leather Aire faux.

What types of leather armchair are available?

Traditional fixed armchairs, manual recliners (which tilt back using a side handle), electric recliners (which recline at the touch of a button and need a socket), and genuine leather rise-and-recliner chairs. What is a rise-and-recliner mobility chair?

A powered single armchair with two functions: the rise function gently tilts the chair forward to bring you to a near-standing position, so getting in and out is easier, and the recline function eases the backrest back and raises a footrest for relaxing. What colours are available, and what is tan?

Five: grey, brown, black, tan and cream. Black is smart and hides marks well, grey is a cool neutral, brown is warm and classic, and cream is a soft light neutral that rewards a little more care. How do I care for a leather armchair?

It depends on the material. For genuine leather, dust and wipe with a slightly damp cloth and apply an occasional leather conditioner to keep the hide supple. For Leather Aire, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth — it doesn't need conditioning. For both, blot spills promptly, avoid harsh chemical cleaners and abrasive sponges, and keep the chair out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators.

What is your returns policy?

We offer a 14-day change of mind returns window from the day your armchair is delivered, on items returned in their original condition. To arrange a return, contact our team within those 14 days and we'll talk you through the next steps. This is in addition to your statutory rights, which cover goods that are faulty or not as described.

What happens if my armchair arrives damaged?

If your armchair arrives with any damage, contact our team as soon as possible — ideally within 48 hours — with a few photographs, and we'll arrange a repair, replacement or collection. It helps to check the chair over on delivery before the team leaves where you can, and to test any powered recline.

Do I need to assemble the armchair myself?

There's very little to do. Our two-person team brings the chair into your room and fits any feet on-site, so it's ready to use, and a powered recliner or rise-and-recliner chair simply plugs into a mains socket. There are no tools or special skills needed from you.

What guarantee comes with these armchairs?

Every armchair is inspected before it leaves us, and your purchase is protected by your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which cover goods that are faulty or not as described.
