Seven chairs are manual and 26 are electric. A manual recliner uses a lever or your own weight against the backrest, needs no socket and costs less. An electric recliner runs a motor from a handset, stops wherever you release the button, and needs a mains socket within reach. If the chair will be used daily, most people prefer the electric action; if it is a spare seat, or the corner has no socket, manual is the simpler answer. Three upholstery types run through the collection. Leather wipes clean and suits a room where food and drink are common. Fabric is warmer to sit on straight away and softer under the hand. Suede, which appears on the Maple chair, is a fabric with a napped finish that reads matte rather than smooth. Worth reading the product title rather than assuming. Annecy, Dandrea and most Cidliano and Renato chairs state Genuine Leather. Valencia, Roma and Cinema state Leather without a grade, so we describe those as leather. Two chairs sit outside their own range pattern: the Cidliano tan is titled Leather while the other three Cidliano chairs say Genuine Leather, and the Renato tan names no material at all. Nine colours in total: black, brown, tan, caramel, cream, mustard, grey, dark grey and light grey. Grey in its three shades is the most widely stocked and appears in every material, which makes it the easiest to match to an existing sofa. The warm tones, tan and caramel, sit mainly on the leather side. Mustard appears once, on a Valencia chair, and is the only strong colour in the collection. Features vary by model rather than running across the collection. The two Cinema chairs carry two cup holders each, which is the only built-in extra stated in any title here. Anything else, USB charging, powered headrests or a wall-hugger action, belongs to a specific product rather than the category, so check the product page for the chair you are considering. Four chairs in the grid carry an outlet or clearance label: the two Cinema chairs, and single units of the Renato Light Grey and Annecy Grey. These are one-off or end-of-line pieces rather than part of the ongoing range, so once they go they will not return at that price, and there is only one of some of them. A recliner needs more floor than its upright footprint. Measure from the wall to the tip of the raised footrest, and allow clearance behind for the backrest unless the model is described as wall-hugging. On an electric chair, add the socket position so the cable does not cross a walkway. Two approaches work. Match, by choosing a chair from a range you already own, which is why Renato, Dandrea and Annecy chairs appear here as well as in their own collections. Or contrast deliberately, taking a different colour or material so the chair reads as its own piece rather than a near-miss. Follow the care instructions supplied with your chair, since products differ. Broadly: vacuum fabric and suede gently with an upholstery attachment to lift dust from the pile, and blot marks from the outside inwards. Dust leather with a dry cloth and blot spills rather than rubbing. On any powered chair, keep the cable tidy and the area around the mechanism clear of dust. Delivery is free across England and Wales, brought by our own two-person team to the ground floor, and it usually takes 7–10 working days.
