Light grey, and how it reads in a room

Light grey is the palest neutral Renato offers short of cream, and it behaves differently from a mid grey. It reflects more of the light in a room, which helps in a north-facing space or anywhere with limited windows, and it keeps a large suite from feeling heavy. It also takes accent colour well, since almost anything reads clearly against it. The trade-off is that marks show sooner on a pale leather than a mid-tone, so the wiping is a little more regular. What electric reclining means in practice

A motor drives the seat and footrest, so you press a button instead of pushing back against the frame, and the piece stops wherever you release it. Two practical consequences follow. The sofa has to sit within reach of a mains socket, and the cable needs a route that keeps it clear of walkways and away from the moving mechanism. Armchair, 2 seater or 3 seater

The 2 seater is the one for a snug or a smaller lounge where a three-seater would dominate. The 3 seater is the standard living room size. The eight sofa sets

Every set combination is available. The numbers give the seats in each piece, so a 3+1+1 is a three seater with two separate armchairs rather than a five-seat sofa. Sets arrive as separate pieces in the matching light grey finish, which usually makes them easier to get through a doorway than one large sofa. Pick by the shape of the room as much as the headcount: a 2+2 and a 3+1 seat four people but sit very differently in a square room. Clearances and the route in

Measure the reclined footprint, not the upright one. That means the distance from the wall to the tip of the raised footrest, plus clearance behind for the backrest to travel unless a model is described as wall-hugging. Then work the route: doorway widths and heights, hallway turns, stair landings, and lift dimensions if you are above the ground floor. Light grey or grey?

Caring for pale leather

Follow the care instructions supplied with your piece first, since products differ. In general, dust with a dry cloth and blot spills straight away rather than rubbing them, because a mark works in faster on a pale surface. Keep the sofa out of long hours of direct sun and away from radiators. Use only a product approved for genuine leather and test it somewhere hidden. Delivery is free across England and Wales, brought by our own two-person team to the ground floor, and it usually takes 7–10 working days. Returns

Change your mind and our 14-day returns policy applies to unused items in original condition, counted from the delivery date. Contact us before sending anything back so a collection can be arranged, since a powered sofa should not go by post.
