The 3+3 set, and why it is worth a look

Most sofa sets are a three-seater and a two-seater. A 3+3 is two matching three-seaters, the least common configuration and the one most often overlooked when it would have suited best. It suits a long room, an open-plan space, or a household that seats six regularly. What it needs is two wall runs of similar length, so check that first. Which of these is genuine leather

Only the Dalmore titles state Genuine Leather, so that is the one range we call genuine leather. Valerie, Verona Leather, Valencia, Roma and Chesterfield state Leather without a grade, so we call those leather and stop there. Three different Veronas, and how to tell them apart

Worth flagging because the titles barely separate them. Verona Leather is the leather version, Verona High Back is fabric with a fixed taller back, and Verona Scatter is fabric with loose back cushions. Scatter back or high back

The difference between two of those Veronas. A scatter back is loose cushions: softer, more informal, and it needs plumping to look tidy. A high back is fixed and taller, holds its shape without help and gives more support behind the shoulders. If nobody in the house will plump cushions, buy the high back. Fixed sofas and manual recliners

Both are here. Valencia, Roma and Conway bring the recliners, all manual, tilted back by a side lever with nothing to plug in. Valerie, Verona, Dalmore and Chesterfield are fixed. The Chesterfield, and what Antique means

One traditional shape sits in an otherwise contemporary grid, and it is the only red sofa here. A deep-buttoned Chesterfield is a classic design, and Antique in the title describes that style, not the age: a new sofa in an antique-style finish, not a period piece. Fabric or leather in a three-seater

A three-seater takes more daily wear than any other piece in a room, so the surface matters. Fabric is warmer to sit on and more forgiving in a family room, but absorbs spills. Leather wipes down fast and shows the shape of the sofa more sharply, but is cooler to the touch and shows scratches. If matching something you own, judge it in person. Measuring, and getting it through the door

Take the width, depth and height from the product page, mark that footprint on your floor with tape and live with it a day, adding recline clearance at both ends if it reclines. Care, by material

Fabric wants vacuuming with an upholstery tool to lift dust from the weave, and blotting from the outside inwards rather than rubbing. Leather wants dusting and a damp cloth. Stock and pre-order items

Most of this collection is in stock and ships inside the usual window. Some items are pre-order, with a stated lead time that can run to several weeks. Pre-order is not the same as sold out and not the same as in stock. Set a back-in-stock alert on anything unavailable and you will be emailed if it returns, though we will not promise a date. Delivery

Delivery is free across England and Wales and usually takes 7–10 working days for items in stock; pre-order items follow their own stated lead time. Our two-person team carries each piece into your chosen ground-floor room, access permitting. A 3+3 takes longer to bring in than a single sofa, so clear the route beforehand.
